Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Tahseen Hussain Mubarak, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Assistant Professor Dr. Nizar Maan Abdul Karim, the Qualification and Employment Unit is holding a training course entitled “Digital Marketing and Consumer Ethics.” Professor Alia Hussein Khalaf Al-Zarkoshi, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, lectured at the course.
The course aims to highlight the importance of digital marketing and consumer ethics, as they are closely linked, with each influencing the other. The impact of digital marketing on consumer behavior increases awareness through easier access to information about products and services, which increases awareness and choices. Digital advertising can also influence consumers’ purchasing decisions, especially if it uses advanced targeting techniques that allow digital marketing to customize marketing messages for each consumer. This may increase the effectiveness of advertising but also raises privacy concerns.
Consumer ethics in digital marketing also requires companies to respect consumers’ privacy and not collect or use their personal data unethically. Companies are also expected to be transparent in their marketing practices, avoid misleading or deceptive advertising, take responsibility for the impact of their marketing campaigns on consumers, and avoid promoting harmful products or services. Consumers must also be aware of digital marketing techniques.
