Duties and powers of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs
The Assistant Dean of the College exercises the following powers to facilitate the work of student affairs in the College:
1- Organizing final exam schedules in coordination with scientific departments.
2- Organizing weekly lesson schedules, in coordination with the scientific departments and in light of the classrooms, to ensure the smooth conduct of lessons in postgraduate studies.
3- Supervising the weekly lecture record prepared for this purpose to ensure that all hours scheduled for each subject are covered and in accordance with the applicable instructions in this regard.
4- Follow up on the attendance of postgraduate students and their discipline in accordance with the applicable regulations and instructions.
5- Reviewing applications for admission to postgraduate studies after they are received from the scientific departments, standardizing them, and submitting them to the university presidency.
6- Auditing cases of transfer of postgraduate studies from other universities to postgraduate studies in the college and referring them to the relevant scientific departments for consideration and addressing the relevant authorities.
7- Following up on postgraduate students in terms of time periods and devoting them to study according to regulations and instructions.
8- Participate in meetings of the college’s graduate studies committees when invited by them to discuss graduate studies matters, according to the department’s specialization, in a way that ensures good performance.
9- Preparing the graduate student’s discussion statement one week before the discussion date, preparing the minutes of the discussion committees, evaluating them, and submitting them to the College Council.
10- Supervising the preparation of annual statistics for graduate studies in the college.
11- Handing over the exam books and receiving them in accordance with the applicable rules.
12- Announcing the results of the examinations after their approval by the graduate studies committees in the scientific departments and according to specialization.
13- Providing academic departments with grades according to a form prepared for this purpose for approval by the graduate studies committees.
14- Coordination with scientific departments regarding the submission of exam questions for the first and second rounds, in accordance with what is done in preliminary studies.
15- Addressing official departments regarding everything related to the graduate student’s biography, starting from his registration until his exit.
16- Addressing the university presidency/graduate studies department regarding everything related to the graduate student’s biography.
17- Addressing the official departments to obtain their formal approvals regarding the attendees after their names and departments have been determined by the relevant scientific department.
18- Signing the annual bonus and promotion forms for postgraduate employees in his capacity as the supreme president.
