The College of Business and Economics holds a workshop entitled Work-Life Balance: Challenges for Working Women

Under the patronage of the respected President of the University, Professor Dr. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Assistant Professor Dr. Nizar Maan Abdul Karim, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Diyala held an in-person workshop entitled (Work-Life Balance: Challenges of Working Women) presented by Assistant Lecturer Saba Ahmed Abdullah

The aim of the workshop is to clarify the concept of the challenges facing working women, personal challenges, feelings of guilt towards the family, lack of time to practice personal activities or hobbies, social challenges, societal expectations in the traditional role of women, and lack of support from those around them

We conclude that achieving balance requires personal awareness and environmental support, and work-life balance is not a luxury but a necessity, and solutions start with small and continuous steps

Recommendations

Set priorities Focus on the most important things in your professional and personal life. Learn to say “no” to tasks that may affect your time or health without real benefit and plan ahead Use daily or weekly schedules to organize your time between work and home. Make time for family activities, entertainment, and relaxation in the same way you plan for work tasks and take care of your health and make sure to get enough sleep, eat healthy, and exercise regularly. Take care of your mental health by meditating, reading books, or practicing hobbies you enjoy.

And take advantage of support and seek help from your husband, family, or even paid services if necessary in matters such as childcare or housework. Don’t be shy to ask for help when needed. And reduce distractions: During work hours, focus on completing tasks efficiently to avoid overtime. During personal time, try to reduce the use of electronic devices as much as possible. And set clear boundaries and make sure there is a separation between work time and family time. Don’t transfer work pressures to home, and vice versa.
