Applying mathematics to calculate the cost of small projects

The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Diyal
a, held a workshop entitled "Applying Mathematics in Calculating the Cost of Small Projects," p
resented by Assistant Lecturer Noor Karim Assi.
The workshop aimed to develop the participants’ skills in estimating and analyzing the costs of
projects of various types, by learning about the scientific principles adopted in calculating
costs and linking them to practical applications, which contributes to enhancing the ability to
make accurate and effective financial decisions.
The workshop included a presentation of the most important theoretical concepts related to cost
, such as fixed and variable costs, the break-even point, and cost-volume-profit analysis, as w
ell as an explanation of the mechanisms for preparing project estimates.
The workshop achieved the fourth goal (quality education) of the seventeen Sustainable Developm
ent Goals by contributing to the development of the scientific and applied skills of the partic
ipants.
