Accounting in the Digital Age

The Accounting Department at the College of Administration and Economics at Diyala University h
eld a scientific festival entitled “Accounting in the Digital Age”, with the participation of a
 number of faculty members and students, and in the presence of the Director of Financial Contr
ol at the Federal Financial Control Bureau / Diyala Branch and a number of professors working a
t the Bureau.
he festival aimed to highlight the transformations taking place in the field of accounting in l
ight of technological development, especially in the field of digital systems and the use of mo
dern technologies in accounting work.
The festival included a scientific lecture delivered by the Dean of the College, Assistant Prof
essor Dr. Nizar Maan Abdul Karim, in which he highlighted the most prominent aspects of account
ing in the digital age and its importance, explaining the role of digitalization in developing
 accounting performance and improving the quality of financial information.

The festival also witnessed the holding of a scientific competition between students of the fou
r scientific departments, which aimed to enhance the spirit of competition and develop their co
gnitive skills, and it received a wide response from the students and attendees.

The festival achieved the fourth goal (quality education) and the seventeenth goal (partnership
s for the goals). The goal includes 17 targets to be achieved by 2030, divided into five catego
ries: finance, technology, capacity building, trade, and systemic issues. These are among the s
eventeen Sustainable Development Goals
